I am a woman

I am a woman

born upon my skin is the

pain of the battle I was born with and

the makeup on my face, do not mistake it, is

my war paint.

I color my lips red to show you that I

will not stay silenced, I close my

legs, not to be polite, but to show

you the space between them is

mine and

I am a woman.

do not forget that.
